PARENTING

Parenting is often described as the most important job in the world and yet, it comes with no formal training, little rest, and an ever-shifting sense of what “doing it right” even means. It can be beautiful, heart-expanding, hilarious as well as lonely, relentless, and full of self-doubt.

From the outside, parenting can look like packed lunchboxes and bedtime stories. But from the inside, it’s a deep, often invisible labour of love: the mental load, the emotional attunement, the constant shape-shifting as your child grows and as you grow too.

At Stork, we honour parenting in all its complexity. Whether you're in the trenches of toddler tantrums, navigating school transitions, raising teens, or balancing multiple roles, we’re here to support you. Not just as a parent, but as a person. Someone with needs, history, identity, and limits. We understand that raising a child often brings up bits of our own childhoods, and that the desire to "get it right" can carry enormous emotional weight.

Parenting doesn't require perfection. It requires presence, repair, and the capacity to reflect. Sometimes we need space to cry, to rage, to say “this is harder than I thought”, and still be held in care.

We support parents through:

  • Developing parenting strategies

  • Supporting emotional regulation - for yourself and your child

  • Caregiver burnout and overwhelm

  • Guilt, shame, and perfectionism

  • Navigating identity shifts and role changes

  • Raising neurodivergent or high-sensitivity children

  • Parenting diverse family structures and identities

  • Relationship strain and communication challenges

  • Parenting after trauma, loss, or adverse experiences

  • And more…
