  • Each session lasts for 50 minutes and costs $230. For those who are eligible for Medicare, you can recieve a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP which will allow you to recieve a $98.97 rebate on 10 sessions.

At Stork, I also hold 2 sliding scale spots at all times. These are spots reserved for clients who need support but aren't in the position to pay for full price therapy. I try to reserve these spots for client's who earn minimally or are unable to work. These will be offerred to clients in need during the course of treatment and won't be available to new clients.

I know that these are trying times financially and there are lots of costs involved with trying for a child or having a child, therefore therapy can be a luxury expense that isn't possible for some.

  • No worries! Life gets in the way sometimes. You're welcome to cancel (and reschedulle if you choose) online, via email, or phonecall.

Our cancellation policy is simple, you're welcome to cancel your appointment free of charge at any time up until 48 hours before your appointment. Cancellations within 48 hours will incur a fee of 50% of the session cost. Cancellations within 24 hours will incur a fee of 100% of the session cost. If you cancel within this windows and we're able to fill the spot then we'll waive the fee.

We ask that you respect Stork's cancellation policy. We understand that it can feel frustrating to have to pay for a cancellation especially if the circumstances were unforseen like falling sick or getting stuck in bad traffic. We do our best to be accommodating.

  • Think of a first session as a get-to-know you. It will be an opportunity for your therapist to understand your story and what is bringing you to therapy at this time. Usually, when people begin therapy they're coming for challenges that might have existed for a little while and are now ready to get support. So, the question we’ll often ask is, ‘“Why now?”.

We also understand that first sessions can be daunting for some. It's unusual to meet someone for the first time and spend the next 50 minutes sharing personal and vulnerable things about yourself. For that reason we always aim to pace these sessions according to what feels good for you. If you're ready to go deep, let's go there! If not, and you want to get to know the space more first, that's okay too and we can take it slower.

First sessions don't always involve much therapeutic work (although sometimes they can). It's more for us to get to understand your story and challenges.

  • That's okay, it happens! Therapy is a uniqely personal journey which requires the right therapist. Often after a first session we encourage new client's to consider how they felt in the room with their therapist and if they can see themselves working together moving forwards. If the answer is no, then we'll support you to find a new therapist who feels like a better fit. Our priority is you, even if we don't end up working together.
